A New World Opened Up – and I Discovered Who I Really Am

Sometimes in life, something happens that changes everything – not necessarily on the outside, but on the inside. A new understanding emerges, and you suddenly see yourself, life, and the world through entirely new eyes. For me, this happened when I began my education at the Yggdrasil Shamanic School.

I’ve always loved nature. I’ve taken many walks through forests and fields, experiencing the peace and silence out there. But what happened when I started to journey inward simultaneously was like stepping into a completely new reality. A deeper dimension of life revealed itself – one I didn’t know existed. It was like finding the entrance to a new world that had always been there, just hidden behind the noise and expectations of everyday life.

A Deeper Peace – and a Deeper Understanding

Through this journey, I’ve found something I’ve never known before: a deep, lasting peace. The fear that once governed many of my choices has gradually loosened its grip. Instead, an inner security has grown – a trust in life, in nature’s rhythm, and in the fact that at a deeper level, everything is actually as it should be.

This peace isn’t about withdrawing from the world, but about seeing it with new eyes. I’ve stopped getting caught up in endless conflicts between right and wrong, dark and light, good and bad. I’ve learned to see both sides – and in the moment when you can truly embrace these polarities, something magical happens: An inner balance, a force of love that comes from within.

Nature – as a Living Partner

Nature is no longer just beautiful – it has become alive. When I sit beneath a tree, I can sense something more profound unfolding. I encounter nature as a conscious force, a being, a field of wisdom. And it’s in these moments that I receive my greatest insights. Not through thoughts or analysis, but through presence.

It’s not about doing anything special. It’s about being. Listening. Sensing. Opening ourselves to everything we usually overlook.

Everything Already Exists Within Us

One of the most fundamental insights I’ve gained is that everything I seek already exists within me. I am the center of my own life. I have the same access to wisdom, peace, and understanding as anyone else – as long as I begin to listen inward and dare to face what is.

For me, shamanic practice isn’t about rituals and special techniques, but about consciousness. When we expand our consciousness – when we dare to face the conscious, subconscious, and unconscious within us – reality begins to transform. Not because the world necessarily changes, but because I change.

The Journey Home to Body and Heart

A crucial part of this journey has been returning to the body – to the physical intelligence we often override. I’ve learned to trust my own feelings, intuitions, and inner guidance more deeply. Not everything needs to be processed through the mind first. I still use my thoughts, but now as a tool – not as the sole authority.

When I listen to my body, I discover the wealth of wisdom that resides there. I’ve begun to love the parts of myself I previously denied. And this has transformed my entire relationship with myself.

A New Way of Learning

Many ask me what it’s like to learn shamanism online. For me, it has been surprisingly effective. It’s not about the screen, but about the field we inhabit – the energetic space we share, even when physically apart.

Through the combination of online teaching, practical exercises, and community, I’ve gained profound experiences and insights. The most important transformations don’t happen on screen, but between sessions – in nature, in silence, in everyday moments.

A Teacher Walking the Path

Pål-Esben is a rare kind of teacher. He doesn’t sugarcoat the truth but speaks things as they are – with an open heart and clear intention. He conceals nothing, doesn’t hold back the “big secrets.” He shares everything because he wants us to grow and find our own path. This makes me feel safe, supported, and simultaneously challenged – exactly how real learning should be.

A Time to Journey Inward

We live in a world filled with unrest and confusion. But I also believe we live in a time of immense potential. It’s time to journey inward. Time to find our inner core. Not to withdraw from the world, but to meet it with a new perspective – with inner strength and love.

This journey has taught me that I no longer need to search. I am already home – within myself.
