This is the best education I have ever experienced

Before starting this education, I only saw "everyone else's" problems and faults, and I was so far removed from my own reality that I didn't see or understand that the problem lay within me. That has been the biggest and most important eye-opener. Learning to look inward and find answers instead of looking outward and finding no answers. Today, I am more confident in myself than I was before the education, even though I see life as a long learning process. I have also learned that it's okay to fail and get back up again.

The tools we have received to uncover and understand my own reality are spectacular and very practical to understand if you are willing to stay with it. The education is also linked to research and fact-based; almost everything we learn can be linked to documentation. I have never doubted that what is being taught is 100 percent serious. I have had many teachers in my life, but I have never had a teacher who gives of themselves and truly wants us to get the maximum out of the education all the time. A teacher who never gives up until we all have understood what is being taught. This is truly life's teacher, and more people should get to experience him.

I think it's brilliant that we meet online, as I can learn in my natural surroundings and use the time on seminars and content instead of traveling and staying overnight away from home. You can feel the energy and unity in the group even though we don't meet physically. It's also brilliant that there are recordings of everything we have been taught; nice to be able to go back and review whether it's seminars or video conferences, there's always something one wonders about.

One thing that has been crucial for me is my connection with nature and its impact on me. Since I started forest bathing, I've noticed how much more present I am within myself and how much clearer my thinking becomes after these outdoor excursions. Though even in this aspect, there's room for improvement. A common thread runs through the entire education, encompassing all aspects of you, from nutrition to the magical elements. During the training, you realize that you must do the work yourself to achieve your goals; there's no quick fix to healing oneself. We're given all the necessary tools, but it's up to us to utilize them.

It hasn't been easy, but what a relief and joy when you reach that point where you notice you've changed, and people around you notice it too. I've also learned that we grow through challenges. Before this education, I thought that someday I must have faced "enough" challenges and could finally live a life like a dance on roses. After everything I've learned now, I see that challenges are necessary, and I'm grateful for every challenge I receive because it helps me grow as a person.

The Yggdrasil Shamanic School Basic Education has transformed my life in a profoundly positive way. A deeper insight into myself

Participating in Pål-Espen's courses has given me a deeper insight into myself and my existence on earth. At one point a few years ago, I needed to shut down parts of myself when there was a shift in me and how the world operated. Gradually, I have opened up again and cracked several codes to find my way back. The last six months of studying Yggdrasil Shamanic School Basic Education has helped me put more pieces back together, allowing me to begin living authentically in a way that makes me love my new way of functioning in the world.

For me, it was beneficial that the course was online when I repeated it, as I had many ongoing projects and lacked the energy for extensive travel six months ago. I feel I've managed to reach an even deeper understanding of the teachings when they were delivered online. Participating in webinars as frequently as we did served as a reminder to maintain focus and process everything we learned. There's substantial knowledge that needs time to be integrated and transformed into understanding in one's own life, so new patterns can be lived out.

The Education as an Online Course

In this education program, Pål-Esben Wanvig has taught us powerful exercises that have gradually connected me with more joy and gratitude. Through the healing I have received and learned to give to both myself and others, I gain access to increasingly more power and insight. This education helps students dare to embark on a personal and exciting development journey where the goal is to become a guide for oneself, and eventually: for others who might be interested or curious.

The fact that the education was online was essential for my participation. Previously, and perhaps especially before the Covid pandemic, I would have probably thought that this type of teaching "had to" take place in a physical classroom for me to benefit from learning, but it has proven that Pål-Esben is a teacher who feels 100% present even when we gather digitally. Having the seminars digitally has not hindered input and questions from participants.

Having access to all videos afterward has allowed us to review the lectures and have Pål-Esben "in our ear" the first few times we tried a new exercise, thus ensuring we captured all steps in the correct order. Once I became completely comfortable with the various exercises, I performed them with a slightly personal twist.

Pål-Esben Wanvig is an extraordinarily wise, intelligent, and sensitive person. He has a teaching ability that is completely beyond what I have encountered before, regardless of context. Great experience with online courses

I've been drawn to spiritual and metaphysical studies since my teenage years. I've explored various paths including Christianity, Theosophy, Kabbalah, astrology, and tarot. In the past two to three years, I've completed shamanic courses with Pål-Esben Wanvig and feel I've finally discovered what I've been searching for. I Remain a Changed Person

Working with Pål-Esben Wanvig has opened me to the closed depths, those depths I had sealed off myself. The depths that contain the certainty that I am worthy, that I possess infinite potential, and that I am here to make a difference in others' lives.

I am now infinitely grateful for both life and everything I have stumbled upon along my path, for I have learned to forgive myself (it was an immediate and truly magical experience) and gained a deeper understanding of the interplay between soul and ego. It has been a struggle, as I have held back and fallen into the traps I always believed I should/must fall into, time and time again, that's what my upbringing and culture had taught me.

But through learning with Pål-Esben, I have gained a deeper understanding of the balance that ego and soul need and the necessary polarities they represent, something I had often read and heard about before, but never truly internalized, never made my own. In Pål-Esben's magical world, ethics and maintaining balance with/within oneself is presented so thoroughly and comprehensibly that I remain a transformed person, into a better version of myself, where I fill my adult shoes considerably better now than before.

The biggest changes involve integrating nature as a natural (pun intended) part of my daily life. New daily routines now shape my life, these give me, among other things, more energy and awareness/presence, and not least gratitude. And, I am a more stable and calmer person than before. The clown hasn't disappeared, but he has become a bit more serious, humor is too important to be trifled with.

The online education with frequent follow-up conferences has exceeded all expectations! Initially, I was skeptical, but Pål-Esben is so inclusive and receptive to questions and input that we felt as if we were physically present in a large gathering where the distance to the instructor was remarkably short – much shorter than in a physical auditorium. We also had excellent opportunities to communicate with each other. The digital division into smaller working groups for exercises worked exceptionally well too. I feel that we have gradually become one big family, naturally staying connected for future interactions.

A golden opportunity lies in the availability of recordings of all seminars and conferences in the member portal. These recordings are usually uploaded very shortly after each session, and presentations used during the courses are also available for download. Being able to review at your own pace and according to your needs is invaluable – this provides a significantly better learning effect than attending a 'live' lecture.

My intention in enrolling in this education was to understand and learn about shamanism and to get closer to nature. However, this course turned out to be about so much more than just that. I ended up gaining numerous insights about myself, experiencing significant personal growth, and receiving help with my mental and physical health, relationships, finances, and well-being both at work and in my private life/family.

I've truly understood that everything is interconnected. The two biggest changes I experienced after the course were improved self-confidence and finding peace of mind, which helped me recover from burnout and, as a ripple effect, brought me joy and more happiness in daily life. And if you can't attend, you still receive the recordings and can ask questions via email.

I feel like I've discovered an even deeper sense of peace, which has given me better discernment about what truly matters to me. I've learned to trust my "heart-smile" even more, understanding that what brings me joy is what I should listen to. Throughout this year of Shamanism, I have connected with aspects of myself that I was previously unaware of, parts of myself I felt "ashamed" of and had therefore distanced myself from and denied to myself and others, as well as aspects of myself that bring me joy.

Through the teachings, I have experienced that those sides of myself, feelings that I judge and distance myself from, are elevated as natural and important to reflect upon in order to process, so that we can accept, integrate and thereby become more whole as human beings.

It is a process and through this process I grow as a person, become more complete, more satisfied with myself, my life and all the people in my life. It has become much easier for me to make decisions and choose what is right for me. I experience an inner peace that I have never felt before and I have tools to maintain calmness in everyday life without letting stress take over.

This year all seminars and video conferences have been online and we get recordings of everything that we can watch again as often as we want. I find it very pleasant to have the seminars online, it saves time, money and energy which is important to me.

A strange and magical way to get to know oneself

A strange and magical way to get to know oneself. I have discovered and explored aspects of myself that I never knew existed. Perhaps I had previously dreamed of being someone else? A better version of myself. I have always known where my internal barriers lie, but never dared to release them. The knowledge you share isn't something that can be summarized or explained theoretically. I experience this knowledge as a process that slowly takes residence within me and mysteriously shows me the way. Many times I've tried to predict the path ahead, but the universe has other plans. And everything feels so right.

This is an education that goes far beyond the curriculum. I have learned something that I can use and enjoy for the rest of my life. This knowledge is something I hope to refine and make my own. You as a teacher must be experienced firsthand. You have a presence and energy that I find only positive. As a teacher myself, I'm particularly sensitive to this aspect – how people interact with each other. I've seen how wonderful you are with participants, regardless of the situation. This gives me great respect for you. This likely affects the group as a whole and allows us to feel so secure with each other. So many wonderful people and so many who wish the best for each other!

Personally, I've never had a better start to the fall semester at work. My body may be struggling, but I feel secure in myself at work and look forward to each workday. Now I don't need any reason to feel pure joy. It can simply arrive unexpectedly. I also don't care much about trivial matters or empty talk from people. I simply don't engage with it anymore. Finally, Sem guesthouse is absolutely perfect. Couldn't be better. Friendly staff, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings.

A life-changing education!

When I discovered Pål Esben Wanvig's basic education in shamanism, I was desperately searching for something more in life. I had reached a point where I no longer felt content. Looking from the outside, it might have been difficult to understand why I was unhappy. Everything seemed perfect – a great career, financial stability, wonderful and healthy children, a kind and loving husband, lovely pets, and engaging hobbies.

Yet something was missing. I felt empty and found little meaning in everything. Although physically healthy, I was plagued by stress, fear, and anxiety. I was searching for something more meaningful. After exploring various options, I concluded that this could be the right path for me. I began with online classes, traveled to beautiful and pleasant Sem for seminars with an amazing group of students, and followed through with homework and excellent guidance.

Miracles, both big and small, have continuously unfolded as I've become braver and dared to challenge new aspects of myself that needed growth to live a happy and meaningful life.

The transformations you experience within yourself when you manage to implement such fundamental changes create a sense of gratitude that's hard to express in words. Pål-Esben Wanvig stands in a class of his own when it comes to imparting knowledge

I have now completed the first half of the Basic Shamanic education, and it's incredible how much I've learned in such a short time!

After just the first seminar, I was able to perform Spontaneous healing – which is objectively measurable – conduct journeys to the upper and lower worlds, work with Power Animals for effective healing, and perform powerful rituals!

Since then, it has continued steadily with training and initiations in rune healing, using runes in magic and in rituals that truly make the air vibrate, and exciting things happen as a result of this.

What makes it possible to learn so much in such a short time (6 months) is partly Pål-Esben's teaching method – where much of the theoretical knowledge is provided via online video before the seminar – and the powerful initiations in our tradition that make the techniques work immediately, without years of practice.

When you can sit at home and prepare in your own living room, it makes it easier to absorb the knowledge in place, and much more time can be devoted to practical implementation. The fact that you can also repeat the entire seminar when you get home (as it's recorded on video) is something I see as a fantastic advantage.

Through my professional role as a physiotherapist, with specialist training in manual therapy, I have encountered many different teachers. Pål-Esben stands in a class of his own when it comes to transmitting knowledge: He does this with contagious enthusiasm, engaging body language, and with a genuine warmth that I have rarely experienced. The fact that he also has an incredible knowledge base to draw from makes you feel secure as a student; there is a background explanation for everything that is taught.

There are high demands on a shamanic teacher; they must have integrity, compassion, be both tolerant and flexible, and of course have an ethical foundation to stand on. A Deeply Transformative Education

When I attended your course a year and a half ago, I was a completely different person than I am today. I had a very narrow perspective of who I was and what I stood for. I had a great, well-paying job – and that was my entire life. Both in terms of hours spent and my identity. This limited view affected my relationship with my partner and our young children. They were far less important to me than my work.

For the past 11 months, I have been taking the Yggdrasil Shamanic School Basic Education. This education has been more extensive than I could have ever imagined. During the training, I have learned an incredible number of different shamanic methods, and all techniques came with thorough explanations. These methods are highly useful and fascinating.

However, what has had the greatest impact on me are the aspects of the education related to my shamanic development path. How I can come closer to who I am by connecting with nature's natural rhythms. The runes and the divine archetypes they represent have also been a major revelation for me. This is the part of the education that has had the most significant impact on my life. Through the runes, I receive daily guidance about my learning themes, which I can then view in light of what happens in life. Finding Light in the Darkest Period of My Life

For many years, I've been a seeker, searching for deeper meaning and happiness in life. As time passed, I grew increasingly weary and felt that something was missing. There had to be more to life than running breathlessly from one thing to another or working 24/7 without rest. Moreover, I felt a strong pull towards helping myself and others live a more fulfilled life. I had previously read countless books on psychology, mental training, quantum mechanics, healing, spirituality, etc., and trained in coaching, hypnotherapy, and trauma therapy. But it wasn't until I met Pål-Esben Wanvig and began my education with him that I suddenly saw a common thread in everything I had done and understood what I was really searching for.

The biggest changes in my life came when I had completely exhausted myself and nearly hit rock bottom while the Corona epidemic was raging. I am a self-proclaimed workaholic who has pushed myself hard for many years, and simultaneously, many challenging events had occurred in my private life that I tried to sweep under the rug. But one day everything stopped – my energy was depleted, and I could no longer maintain the same pace as before.

Following Pål-Esben's advice, I began taking daily walks in the forest, but unlike before, I walked slowly without music or other distractions. Gradually, the mental fog started to lift, and I transitioned from feeling pressured to take these walks to them becoming the most important part of my life. I experienced the most introspective period of my life and could finally turn my attention inward to truly understand how I was feeling. In the past, I rarely, if ever, took the time to listen to my body, instead filling my schedule with more and more activities to avoid acknowledging that perhaps everything wasn't perfect. I had always disliked winter because it represented stagnation, darkness, cold, and low energy, but strangely enough, it was during the darkest period of my life that I rediscovered the light. Suddenly, I gained a deeper understanding of what we were learning and began adapting my life to live more in rhythm with nature, which became an eye-opener for me.

Having completed the first half of the Shamanic education, I'm amazed by how much I've learned in such a brief period! After just the first weekend gathering, I was capable of performing Spontaneous Healing – which is objectively measurable – conducting journeys to the upper and lower worlds, collaborating with Power Animals for effective healing, and performing powerful rituals!

And since then, it has continued, with one breakthrough after another in rune healing education and initiations, using runes in magic and rituals that truly make the air vibrate, leading to extraordinary occurrences as a consequence.

This year in the basic education at Yggdrasil Shamanic School has been the most powerful and exciting year in my entire shamanic journey.

I didn't grow up surrounded by forests and tall trees, but I've always felt a strong attraction to nature, to trees and herbs of all kinds. It wasn't until I came to Norway that I experienced the power of trees so intensely that it felt almost overwhelming, as if the forest was closing in around me. But this changed quickly, I learned to work with this energy and eventually came to love it.

Now, I can no longer walk through the forest merely for exercise or a quick stroll. The trees "call" to me from all directions, and my attention is naturally drawn to each one of them. Connecting with a tree is a wonderful and profound experience, something I recommend everyone do as often as possible.

From the depths of my heart

Dear Pål-Esben,

I wish I could send you an ocean of flowers – or at least a genuine, old-fashioned letter. But I can't find an address, and perhaps that's for the best, as you would likely be overwhelmed with such expressions. So here are my words – straight from the heart – in an email.

I believe I was born with fear in my blood. My mother lost many pregnancies before me and spent nine months lying completely still in bed to keep me. Perhaps that's when I learned the fear of loss – a core program that accompanied me throughout childhood and life. At some point, fear transformed into anger – it was easier to be angry at the world than to be afraid all the time. But in retrospect, I can only wonder at the amount of rage that resided within me, a Balrog-rage, like the fire demon in The Lord of the Rings.

I have long struggled to understand why suffering exists in such abundance on this planet. But I've now realized that neither fear nor anger helps me in facing life. Through many incarnations, rejection has been a central theme – and I've often run away. Death seemed like a trump card, an escape route. With such programming in my baggage, it's been difficult to believe in positive development. 'Defective' was the word that best described me – and every time I tried to lift my gaze, I was pulled back by the voice saying: You're so ugly and stupid that the world would be better off if you died.

After the last course weekend, life feels different – truly indescribable. When you asked us to sing Love Flows and look into each other's eyes, I felt the panic – now they'll see who I really am, that I don't belong here. But instead of fleeing, I chose to show gratitude for being there, for being part of the community. And it became an experience I'll never forget.

The subsequent rituals intensified this transformation. For the first time, I felt a willingness to be there for myself – to take care of myself, regardless of what happens in the world around me. The combination of the rituals' power and the knowledge you share – about handling interruptions, taking responsibility for our own feelings, and understanding that it's not the trauma but our response that matters – has given me a completely new experience of power. Power to stand in myself. Power to grow from love instead of fear.

I remember the beautiful dragon – an incredible gift. I still feel it. And now I walk daily in the forest with my three dogs, without fear as my companion. How does one thank someone for something like this? The best way I know is to continue working – to create new impulses in my life, continue to listen, learn, and put everything into practice.

The peace and security I feel now is truly unparalleled. And I must say: I love that you dare to be raw, honest, and direct. You speak the truth, even when it stings – because you aim for our highest potential. I'm so tired of superficial 'kindness' that only masks truth. Your honesty brings courage and liberation.

For as long as I can remember, animals, nature, and spending time with loved ones have been the most important aspects of my life. Yet there came a time when I closed myself off from everything that truly mattered – because I lacked the knowledge and tools to handle fear and life's challenges.

I'm really looking forward to what comes next!

Regarding time management, I find that the education provides an important reminder not to maintain the rigid requirements we often encounter in today's society. However, it's not always easy to balance this with a busy everyday life and work schedule.

The questions raised during the teaching are usually both interesting and educational, but I find that some occasionally become a bit too personal and therefore not always of general interest. I understand this is a challenging balance for you as a lecturer, determining what's suitable for group sharing and what should perhaps be addressed individually. Nevertheless, I see the value of sharing, even though I haven't felt completely ready for it yet. It will probably come naturally as the material integrates more deeply.

I love the weekend gatherings! That's when I set aside time and engage fully. It's also very nice to have access to individual recordings and audio files, especially when practicing "journeys" and exercises. While it can be somewhat challenging to find specific sections in longer recordings, it still works well overall.

I strongly feel that this is my path, and I must walk it at my own pace, but also that I can no longer postpone it. I appreciate how you break down specific steps to work with, making the learning more tangible. A structured approach combined with creativity and spirituality suits me perfectly, I am probably a blend of both myself.

The course content is excellent, and you are a clear and knowledgeable instructor. The topics can be challenging to explain, but you make them understandable and engaging. It's also wonderful to be in a group that dares to think outside the box, without fear of criticism. Dear Pål-Esben, when I first attended your course a year and a half ago, I was a completely different person. I had a very narrow perspective of who I was and what I stood for. I had a prestigious, well-paying job, and that was my entire life, both in terms of hours spent and my identity. This limited viewpoint affected my relationship with my partner and our young children. They were far less important to me than my job.

It also took a toll on me personally. Without realizing it, I was completely drained of life energy. My mind was empty. But I didn't understand it, even when my doctor put me on sick leave for four consecutive weeks, with a cold!

Dear Pål-Esben, I'm extremely grateful to have you as my teacher. I've participated in various alternative courses and some shamanic training programs. None of them compare to this one in terms of professional delivery, the extensive knowledge gained, and its practical applications for either personal growth or professional practice as a healer and Shaman.

The shamanic courses I've taken in other traditions have been pleasant experiences with nice moments, but they've provided little to no practical tools to use at home.

I find it remarkable that we can study the theory through video training on the membership portal. It's an incredibly efficient and excellent way to learn, saving tremendous amounts of travel time, money, and resources compared to physical meetings for covering this material. Now we can review as much as we want and revisit topics whenever we need clarification. This is a crucial factor that enables us to learn so much in such a short time. I never imagined I could become so aware of so many things in such a short time as I have through my education with Pål-Esben. In his simple, down-to-earth, yet profoundly wise manner, he teaches us how to master anger, become conscious of our own actions, and recognize what truly matters in life. He reminds us that happiness isn't about money, but about living in harmony with nature's rhythms and following the path of the heart.

Throughout the training, we learn numerous practical and powerful techniques, to help both ourselves and others. I had been suffering from a painful and "locked" shoulder for several months, but using the methods I learned, I was able to treat it myself, and now it's completely healed. What makes Pål-Esben unique is his ability to teach both beginners and experienced practitioners simultaneously. Everyone gains something new, even those who have been practicing for 15 years. All sessions are recorded on video, allowing students to review the teachings repeatedly and discover new layers of understanding.

Inner balance

I'm approaching 50 years old. For more than 15 years, I experienced increasing exhaustion, both physically and mentally. Struggling with weight issues, knee and shoulder pain, and a persistent mental fog, I continued to push through, maintaining my responsibilities at work, with family, and in social situations.

I explored every avenue, from conventional medicine to alternative therapies, investing substantial time, energy, and money in search of solutions. The only time I experienced genuine relief was during an expensive month-long retreat featuring freshly pressed juices and algae supplements. While I was delighted with the results, I felt discouraged knowing this approach wasn't sustainable with normal daily life.

Through the Yggdrasil Shamanic School basic education, I've gained far more than knowledge of runes and "magic" (in terms of transforming life processes). The most valuable lesson I've learned is how to walk the Path of the Heart.
