Here the first stones of the foundation are laid. Through five online courses you are introduced to some of the most central principles of the primordial shamanic tradition, you receive a primordial shamanic initiation from me, so that the methods you learn work with full power from day one, and two personal conversations with me on Zoom are included.

This is the first online course in the primordial shamanic development journey at Yggdrasil Shamanic School. Here is some of what you will learn:

In this online course you are taken on a shamanic journey where I guide you to your personal shamanic guide for the soul’s epic journey, power animal Hummingbird. You learn how to contact Hummingbird in your daily life, and how to seek help, insight, inspiration and healing.

Two personal conversations with me

The course includes two follow-up conversations on Zoom of up to fifty minutes each, where you can ask questions, discuss your experiences and get help applying what you learn, so that you get the best possible results. Additional conversations can be booked for 150 Euro per session.

The course in brief

All teaching takes place on a professional course platform, with individual follow-up from me. When you have completed the course, you can apply for admission to the basic training.

On the platform you get videos and audio files, downloadable PDFs and manuals, guided meditations and rituals, and assignments and practice exercises. You learn through your own practice: rituals, meditations, nature connection, energy work and primordial shamanic journeys. The theory supports your experiences and gives a solid understanding of the shaman’s worldview.

After registration you receive an email from me with suggested times for an introductory conversation on Zoom, and a primordial shamanic initiation process, so that all the methods you learn work with full power right away.

Taught by Pål-Esben Wanvig

I am an engineer, and for many years I thought the alternative was not for me. In December 2003 my body collapsed, the doctors found nothing, and I had to look elsewhere. That was the start of more than twenty years and more than 35,000 hours of studies in shamanism, functional medicine and psychology. I have been teaching since 2004, and have followed several thousand students and clients.

At Yggdrasil Shamanic School I unite ancient shamanic wisdom with modern science, so that even the most mystical becomes understandable and possible to try for yourself. In this course you receive a primordial shamanic initiation from me, so that the methods work from day one, and I follow you personally in two conversations.

Yes, anyone can walk the shaman’s path. You do not need to be born into a particular culture, or have known about your spiritual abilities since childhood. It is not about your outer background, but about inner willingness, curiosity and a sincere desire to understand yourself, nature and life on a deeper level. Through this course you experience for yourself that the shaman’s power is available to everyone who is willing to open their heart, go inward and work consciously with themselves. The shaman’s path is not for the chosen few; it is for the courageous.

No. There are no dogmas, commandments or moral doctrines to follow, and no authorities or intermediaries required to experience the divine. Primordial shamanism is not based on belief, but on direct experience: a path of personal exploration and insight, where you yourself experience the creative force’s many expressions, through nature, energy, consciousness and living life. At Yggdrasil Shamanic School we do not build ethics on external commandments, but on inner awareness: respect, love, compassion, honesty, gratitude, forgiveness, integrity and tolerance.
