So far the training is taught in Norwegian. All courses and training programs are so far in Norwegian. The English version of the free online course will be ready in November or December 2026, and I plan to teach the introductory course and the basic training live for the first English group in 2027. No. The training is designed both for beginners and for those with experience in spiritual practice. All you need is an open heart, curiosity and a willingness to work with yourself at a deep level. Everyone begins with the free online course, and you should have gone through it before you apply.

You go through the training at your own pace. Most students complete it in six to eight months, and for steady progress you should plan on seven to ten hours a week. You have access to all the material for at least a year after you have completed the training, so there is no rush.

It is both, but first and foremost experiential. You learn by doing: rituals, meditations, connecting with nature, energy work and primordial shamanic journeys. The theory supports your experiences and gives you a solid understanding of the shaman’s view of reality.

All teaching takes place online: the courses on a professional course platform, at your own pace, and the personal follow-up conversations on Zoom. You get videos and audio files, downloadable PDFs and manuals, guided meditations and rituals, and assignments and hands-on exercises. Yes. The course fee includes twelve personal follow-up conversations with me on Zoom, and you have the opportunity for direct contact throughout the training. This is an important part of the journey, so that you are not alone when deep processes begin to unfold.

Yes. The training is built to fit around your life. You go through the courses at your own pace, at home, the conversations are booked when it suits you, and you can return to the material as often as you need.

The course fee for the complete basic training, with all sixteen online courses and the twelve conversations, is 2,720 Euro, paid before start. A six-month payment plan is also available: the course fee is then 2,920 Euro, with 973 Euro before start and five monthly installments of 389 Euro. The price and the dates for the first English group in 2027 will be confirmed by email.

Yes, anyone can walk the shaman’s path. You do not need to be born into a particular culture, or have known about your spiritual abilities since childhood. It is not about your outer background, but about inner willingness, curiosity and a sincere desire to understand yourself, nature and life on a deeper level. Through the training you experience for yourself that the shaman’s power is available to everyone who is willing to open their heart, go inward and work consciously with themselves. The shaman’s path is not for the chosen few; it is for the courageous.

No. There are no dogmas, commandments or moral doctrines to follow, and no authorities or intermediaries required to experience the divine. Primordial shamanism is not based on belief, but on direct experience: a path of personal exploration and insight, where you yourself experience the creative force’s many expressions, through nature, energy, consciousness and living life. At Yggdrasil Shamanic School we do not build ethics on external commandments, but on inner awareness: respect, love, compassion, honesty, gratitude, forgiveness, integrity and tolerance. It is a living practice, not a belief: a path home, not a system you must fit into.

First and foremost, it is a deep journey of personal and spiritual development: you learn to work with yourself at a fundamental level, using primordial shamanic techniques that help you understand what is happening in your subconscious, process trauma and release emotional blockages. The training also gives you a solid foundation for working as a practicing shaman, with healing, rituals and energy work, and for guiding others, combined with insight into behavioral psychology, neurobiology and trauma. The tools can be used in all areas of life, whether you work in healthcare, as a leader, educator, therapist, coach or in creative and social professions. After the basic training you can continue your studies at the school, all the way to becoming a shaman teacher.

Once you have completed the basic training, you can apply for the Senior Shaman Training, a deeper, more advanced journey for those who feel called to continue on the primordial shamanic path. From there the path continues to the Path to Unity, and the teacher trainings are by invitation.
