From Burnout and Stress to Serenity – My Journey to a Life in Balance
There are periods in life when everything feels overwhelming. When you sense that something isn’t right, even though everything might look “perfect” on the outside. For me, the inward journey began when the pace became too fast, the demands too many – and I started feeling an inner restlessness that could no longer be ignored.
I wasn’t quite sure what I was searching for, but I knew I needed a deeper connection – with myself, with life, and with what truly matters.
I used to live life in the fast lane. I made quick decisions, often acted on impulse, and always had something that needed to be done. But today… today I live in a completely different way.
Through the years, I’ve been on a profound, inner journey – one that has transformed how I approach both daily life and existence itself. I no longer operate on autopilot. I breathe more. Reflect more. And I feel more alive than ever before.
An Encounter with Myself
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to see myself – truly see – with both honesty and compassion. I’ve become more aware of my own patterns, mistakes, and vulnerabilities. And the strange thing is, the more honest I am with myself, the more understanding I have for others. I judge less frequently. I listen more.
For we all make mistakes. It’s part of being human. What’s important is that we learn – and grow. It’s in reflection, in stillness, that we get the opportunity to extract the lessons that life offers us.
A New Peace – and New Priorities
Where I once filled my calendar with endless activities, I’ve now discovered a new balance. I’ve uncovered the value of tranquility and presence. I no longer feel compelled to achieve perfection in everything – 80 percent is often more than sufficient. And there’s a liberating quality to this realization. A freedom that creates space for what truly matters.
This sense of calm has emerged through awareness – through acknowledging that I have nothing to prove to anyone. I’ve begun making choices more from the heart.
Nature’s Rhythms and My Inner Clock
One of the most profound insights I’ve gained through shamanic work is how we humans mirror nature’s rhythms. We’re not separate – we are nature. Just as nature has its seasons, we too need both rest and growth. We weren’t meant to perform constantly. We were meant to live in harmony with both light and darkness.
I’ve found peace in nature. When I walk quietly among the trees, my thoughts settle into stillness. I connect with something greater, something deeper. It’s here – in the silence between the trees – that I draw strength and clarity. This became my path out of stress and burnout.
Responsibility Brings Freedom
Through this journey, I’ve also learned the immense power that lies in taking responsibility – for my emotions, my choices, my reactions. Previously, I would react without thinking, diving into situations without understanding why. Now I take a step back. I tune in to my feelings. I ask myself: What’s really happening here?
And it’s precisely this approach that has given me more freedom. Because when I take responsibility, I no longer need to be a victim of circumstances. I create space to choose differently – and better – for myself.
Sharing What I’ve Received
Today, I work as a life coach and teacher. It brings me profound fulfillment to share what I’ve learned with others. Witnessing people unlock their own potential and rediscover their inner strength is the most beautiful work I know.
Yggdrasil Shamanic School – A Life Path, Not Just an Education
It’s impossible to talk about this journey without mentioning Yggdrasil Shamanic School. The education there has been a cornerstone of my development. It’s not merely informative – it’s transformative. It goes beyond learning techniques; it’s about evolving as both a human being and a soul.
The blend of online instruction and practical exercises has worked remarkably well for me. I’ve been able to delve deep at my own pace while acquiring tools that integrate seamlessly into daily life.
A Teacher Who Makes a Difference
Pål-Esben, who teaches at the school, is truly one of a kind. After nearly two decades as his student, I can say with absolute certainty that he is an exceptional teacher. He possesses a rare ability to convey deep wisdom in a grounded, playful, and scientifically anchored way. He creates space for both wonder and security, teaching with a heart full of both humor and profound insight.
Finding Meaning – Within Oneself and in Life
Perhaps what has meant the most to me is that I now live with a deeper sense of purpose. I feel my life has substance. I know who I am and what matters to me. I’ve learned to stand firmly in my own truth – in encounters with life, with people, with myself.
And this is perhaps what I wish to share most of all: that it’s possible to create a life that feels authentic. That the path back to yourself exists – and that you’re not alone on this journey.
