BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

Meet Grandmaster Wolf
and Pål-Esben Wanvig.

Two personal journeys of spiritual exploration, brought together for this gathering.

SHARING SPONTANEOUS INSIGHTS

Grandmaster Wolf

Mystic · A lifetime of inner exploration

From an early age, Grandmaster Wolf was drawn to questions about existence, awareness and his own true nature. His search took him to temples in the Himalayas and remote parts of China, through long periods of solitude, contemplation and spiritual practice.

Along the way, he spent time in the presence of figures including the Dalai Lama, Jiddu Krishnamurti and Master Ni Ching Hua. He describes a private conversation with Zen Master Yamahata Daido Hogen-San, following nearly twenty years of practice, as a pivotal moment in his awakening.

For more than three decades since that encounter, he has shared his perspective with audiences around the world. His emphasis is on direct experience and discovering one’s own nature. What he brings to this gathering arises spontaneously from that lived experience, through presence, dialogue and guided exploration.

Grandmaster Wolf is a spiritual polymath, mystic, and awakened guide whose life transcends ordinary narrative. First and foremost a mystic, he was driven from early youth by a deep, unceasing desire to return to an unknown source — to realize his original true nature and uncover deeper truths.

This quest led him on decades of spiritual exploration, living in temples high in the Himalayas and in the remote mountains of China, often in solitude and with great sacrifice. Along the way, he sat for long periods in the presence of renowned awakened beings — including the Dalai Lama, Jiddu Krishnamurti, and Master Ni Ching Hua, to name a few.

After nearly twenty years of silent practice and internal immersion, GM Wolf’s final threshold of awakening arrived during a private exchange with Zen Master Yamahata Daido Hogen-San — recognized as one of the most senior enlightened Zen Masters of the era.

At the time, GM Wolf was recovering in Australia from traumatic events in Tibet when he encountered the master. Their connection began through simple healing work — GM Wolf offering help for Hogen-San’s legs after many decades in lotus position.

But the relationship soon deepened into a nonverbal transmission. During a quiet conversation on the nature of existence, the master spoke a few precise words. In that moment, everything collapsed: thoughts, ego, identity. Overwhelmed by clarity, GM Wolf wept for three days in an indescribable state of joy and liberation — the illusion of separation dissolved, leaving only awareness itself.

Since that pivotal moment — over three decades ago — Grandmaster Wolf has lived as a vessel of spontaneous wisdom, dedicating his life to the science of self-mastery: mental, emotional and spiritual health grounded in direct experience rather than belief. He has offered his wisdom to audiences around the world — not as a guru demanding devotion, but as a guide who gently points to your own inherent freedom.

His message is elegant and clear: real awakening is not something to achieve, but a remembrance of what is always already present.

His role in the gathering: Grandmaster Wolf will be present throughout both workshop days.

YOUR HOST & ORGANISER

Pål-Esben Wanvig

Shaman, mystic, author & spiritual guide

Pål-Esben’s path began in civil engineering and the technology industry. A profound personal turning point in 2003 led him into an exploration of Eastern philosophy, shamanism, psychology and spiritual practice that has continued for more than twenty years.

During that time, he has taught and guided thousands of students and clients through seminars, individual work and online programs. He is the Rune Master and Senior Tradition Bearer at the Yggdrasil Shamanic School, and the author of Beyond Positive Psychology: A Journey From Burnout to Enlightenment.

His work explores how inner understanding can find expression in everyday life: through self-awareness, personal growth and a deeper connection with one’s own nature. His friendship and exchanges with Grandmaster Wolf have also played an important part in his spiritual journey.

His role in the gathering: Pål-Esben hosts and organizes this independent event, bringing his experience with spiritual exploration and guiding groups.
